realtor.what should i do now?IHow should i let the present realtor know that I'm going with another realtor.
Business is business. If you and your current Realtor have not been communicating very much...s/he will not be surprised. End it politely, s/he still may be able to bring you a buyer.

I agree with all responses. Depending on your relationship with your current Realtor, the conversation will either be short and sweet. Bottom line is that you are dissatisfied with your current Realtor and have the right to interview and choose one that you feel can get the job done. In any real estate market, price, staging, and curb appeal are king, more so in the current market. Your new Realtor should be able to explain the changes in the market and how you can best position your house to sell. Best of luck
Your agent knows the listing is about to expire. You can believe that. They are just afraid to call. Chances are they have not been in touch with you much since you listed with them. David Patterson is right. Be a standup guy and call them and tell them you will not be renewing.
Talk to a couple of other agents before you sign up with a new agent. Make them do some homework to ensure you are priced properly for your market. Even a great agent cannot sell an overpriced home in this market. Keep in mind, price, location and condition get homes sold. You cannot control location, but you can control the others. Make them the best they can be and better than the competition.
Much success in getting your home sold. If you would like a copy of my "Selling Your Home 101" course, please email me and I will email it back to you. No charge. It might help.
I'm guessing that if your Listing Contract is about to expire in three days and you haven't heard from your current Realtor, you are doing the right thing in speaking to a different Realtor because it sounds like the communication level hasn't been all that wonderful to begin with. Remember too as you choose another Realtor that you want to establish a communication plan / schedule with he or she and then hold them to it! I personally touch base with my Seller's once a week even if it's to report that nothing is going on so that they at least know I'm still there and working on selling their property. Remember too that when you hire a Realtor you are basically in a boss-employee relationship. You need to let them know when you think they are doing a good job as well as when you think they could be doing more. If you have questions don't wait for them to call you, pick up that phone and call them! And all my best to you in the sale of your property!

There's an easy answer to that question. Remind them of the expiration date and your ability at that time to hire another Realtor. Then, inform the current realtor about your intentions. That's about it. Good luck with the sale of your home.
