I have a contingency offer on my house that is contingent upon the sale of the buyers home in another state.

Am I legally bound to this contract or can I back ou? My intention is to not sell my home at all and keep it off the market. The contingency contract expires in August but my listing with my realtor is up in June.

Usually when an offer is contingent on a sale you can still pursue other offers and you can certainly change listing agents after that listing agreement expires.

Based on your information, you are bound until the offer expires. However, if all parties are in agreement you might be able to have a release form signed by all parties that would allow you to get out from the offer. I would talk with your agent about this situation as there is probably more to this scenario. Thanks.
