I am student of the Haverhill Institute of Staging & Design. If you watch HGTV, you will see Haverhill's

commercials. I am looking for 2 homes to stage for FREE. The staging process would involve the help of the homeowners while using their existing furniture. The following will be done during the staging process:
1. De-clutter the home room by room
2. Eliminate pet smells and other odors
3. Remove any personalized items including photos
4. Color-coordinate rooms for harmony
5. Make sure the floor plan flows
6. Rearrange furniture for best possible visual effect and use of space
As a student of Haverhill, I am also required to show the space in it's current condition, empty the space completely, then stage the space while all the while, taking pictures of the space in it's BEFORE state, it's EMPTY state and AFTER state. If you know anyone who could use my help, pls. let me know. For the purposes of completing my course, the process will not involve repairs or repainting. Pls. let me know if you have any questions and if there's a home you'd like me to see. Thanks.

I took the test the other day and I got the results today. I got 24% out of 30% on the test which makes me eligible for employment. I will be applying for the job soon.

So it's now August & you should have taken your test by now -- I was wondering if you could update us on how it went, what it was like, & if you're working for Haverhill or someone else independently? I looked into taking this class myself & since I live in a metro area, I was told they'd have work for me out here. It just kinda seems too good to be true so I'm hoping someone who's gone thru it can let us know one way or another. :) Thanks!

For those who inquired and are interested in my Haverhill course progress, I just want to let you all know that I still haven't taken the test. I planned on taking the test at the end of July but my husband and I went to Colorado for a week. Got back on Sunday. I'm not feeling too well right now but as soon as I feel better, I'll start studying for the test and I plan on taking the test by next week. I'll provide more updates as I get closer to the completion of my course. Did I tell you that I received a perfect score on my course material? I received a 70% out of 70%. I hope I do just as well on the test. Wish me luck!

Hi - I live in Colorado. I am interested in signing up for the course and I was wondering if the Haverhills course is a scam. I keep reading negative things about it and I wanted to get some insiders opinion before I fork over the $1,000. Any info you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Tippi,

I am a vocational counselor, I have someone looking at this program. and I have some questions for you. Did you find a place to stage? Did you have to pay for the staging out of your own money? Have you completed Haverhill institute. How was your experience? Have you been able to find employment in texas? I appreciate your information.

Hello Kristi & anyone interested,

I will be taking the test very soon. I plan to take it before the end of July. I also heard that the test is very hard even though it is an open book test. I will post an update as soon as I know how I did on the test. Wish me luck!

I was interested in Haverhill, but have heard that the test is REALLy hard to pass and therefore they do not need to guarantee employment.
Have you passed the test yet?
Interested in what your experience has been.

My very first posting on this website was to find a home I can stage for my Haverhill course material. I have since finished all of my course material for which I received a perfect score, 10 points for all 7 exercises. The exercises consist of Staging, Decluttering, Focal Points, Room Styles, Room Planner, Working with the Trades and Mission Statement. I plan on taking the test in July and if I pass the test, I may qualify for employment with Haverhill.

My neighbor was kind enough to let me use her home for one of the exercises. I decluttered her home and staged the spaces using all of her existing furniture and accessories. This is a "zero cost" decorating. My neighbor was very pleased with the result and so was Haverhill!

Hello, I teach a 3 day CERTIFIED Staging class. I am an Industry leader and located right here in northern Ohio. I teach at the Westlake Holiday Inn. I was invited to become a trainer due to requests, my desire to help others, and unfortunately the amount of re-Stagings I have had to do for the sellers. Many of my current students were not taught ALL the secrets by the other training courses. Business, Marketing & Interior Decorating Guidelines.

Hello Jinging,

At this point I can't really tell if enrolling in the course is a good choice or not. I haven't finished my course yet and I haven't taken the test so it's a bit too soon to tell at this point where this will take me. First thing first I guess, I have to pass the course. I am determined to finish my course on time and pass the test but I just don't know what might happen at this point. Once I have my grades and test results, I can answer your question better. For now, I hope this helps.
