There are many ways to advertise your home for sale. One could use socail networking sites, ads in the paper, even a sign in the front yard. BUT, the most effective way is by employing the services of a local REALTOR. Their expertise, experience and connections would help get the word out on your property. Local, state and national MLS services would enable your home to get the widest exposure in today's market and get your property in front of the widest audience.

The best way to advertise a home is by listing with a real estate agent. This will get it in the local mls system where all Cullman area agents have access to the information on the house and its location. They in turn have clients who are looking for specific properties which may match your home and will then show the house to their clients in hope that it will be what they desire. There is a fee which is attached to listing with agents. Hopefully the help you get from them will be worth the cost and both the seller and the buyer will be given services that will make this experience pleasant and worthwhile. You can also put the home on the internet through several sites that may or may not charge a small fee but the exposure and the potential buyer pool is not nearly as extensive as what you get with an agent, especially one who is with a national or worldwide company that has several websites that publish their listings. Another short term option might be to talk with your neighbors to see if they have any friends or relatives who would like to move into the neighborhood. The biggest problem with selling yourself is the lack of comparative properties you will have at your disposal to generate a fair price for your home. This could cost much more than the real estate fee if you are pricing your home too low or it could cause a long delay in selling and several price reductions if you initially price it too high. I hope this will be of some assistance and wish you luck. Mark Smothers

if y our home is listed with a local brokerage your listing agent can list your home here on Trulia, if you are selling by owner you can NOT list your home on this website.
You may want to reconsider listing with an experienced Realtor, sooo many advantages, not only pricing your home right and competitively, but also preparing it right and many more recommendations from your
Realtor that will help sell your home.
