How can I get out of this mobile home?!?

My mom talked me into getting a mobile home back in 2002 after my divorce. I was only 22 at the time and it seemed like a good idea - but honestly I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Now I am 29, a full-time student, re-married... and I have been trying to escape this place for years! I have tried to sell it, get someone to take over my loan, etc.... to no avail. My husband and I would really like to relocated to Rock Hill, SC before this fall and I honestly don't know if it's possible. I have a little over 28,000 left on this loan and I need some ideas on how I might be able to get out of here.

Selling LAND with home will help or if the property home resides on is available to rent or lease due to the expense of moving a mobile home especially a dw. Are you in the Stratford or Cainhoy School location? As stated previously renting is always an option due to the high demand-slow economy-mortgage crisis--- people are looking to rent due to loss of homes. i'm looking at property from Summerville/jedburg area back to Cordova in Orbg. Interesting what's available. I own lake property; however, considering summerville or cordova for school purposes. share some specifics... will check back with what you have available...

Tamara,
Well, the GOOD NEWS is that some manufactured homes in Summerville are actually selling! Sixteen of them sold in the last six months! Do you also own the land the home is on? Has the home been de-titled, and titled as real estate, or are you simply trying to sell the mobile home on its own? Have you thought about renting the property? There are lots of options you can consider, but I need to get more details from you. I'd be glad to meet with you and discuss some options for you and your husband to consider. Call or email me, and let's find a way to help you and your husband get to Rock Hill by this fall!

I was in a similar situation when my wife owned a mobile home and then built a new home. It can be tough to sell a mobile home, especially a newer one. Try talking to the folks at the place where you purchase the mobile home and see if they will take it back or make a deal to consign it or ? Unfortunately mobile homes loose value and it is just a matter of time you loose the money invested. We found a buyer after sometime and did take a little lose on it. If you do find someone to take over the payments be careful in that the bank will release you from the loan. Keep advertising and utilize places that allow you to post for sale items for free – like the local supermarkets, hardware stores, etc. you only need one buyer.
