Hi Chris. Wow....5 acres! Congrats......it sounds like you've done some preliminary work (for example, being able to subdivide your property). It's always advisable to find out ALL of your options ahead of time to be adequately prepared so that you can make a decision that is truly best for YOU!
I agree with my colleage Dawn below. Ideally, you should consult a Realtor who can provide you with the relevant market data as well as insight into issues you should be aware of re: selling v. renting your property.
I always recommend that you interview 2-3 Realtors to assess not only their background and experience (which is important), but also their commitment to their clients (does s/he have time to dedicate her/his efforts to market YOUR property?), their accessibility (does s/he make her/himself available 24/7 by cell, etc.) and their accountability (if s/he doesn't live up to her/his promises, are you able to be released from the Contract to find a Realtor who will?).
