Help me get my house back!

Asked by Confused, Philadelphia, PA Wed May 20, 2009

I placed my home on the market and it was immediately sold. I signed the sales agreement and the inspection was performed 2 days ago. I now want to keep my house. How can I get out of it?

Hello Confused,

I don't understand why you want your home back.

Also, did you get what you were asking for for the home? If you did, you will owe your Realtor the commission. If not, the buyer could sue you.

You will need to hire a real estate attorney to give you legal advice.

This would require the expertise of a Real Estate Attorney. Many contracts signed today have numerous mistakes that neither sides is aware of. There are clauses in the Agreement of Sale that allows under certaim circumstances to void the contract. Contact us if you have additional questions.

Talk with a real estate attorney.
You don't mention your Realtor, talk with them also. If they don't have an answer, talk with their broker.

As in any transactions, most things can be negotiated. My guess is that this could end up being an expensive experience for you.

Get an Attorney. You may have some issues with that.
