Follow-UP: Ann Arbor condo to be completed by ~ 4-15-2011, have to tell Bloomfield Hills buyer of my home to wait for occupancy - too long to wait?

It never hurts to ask... It could easily become an issue, but completely depends on buyer's timeframe, motivation etc. Because of the impending foreclosures and early '11 number of listings, it could work out to your advantage to even consider temp housing if you get your price. Your best bet is to get a market analysis to see where you stand now, regardless.

ah you know where you are going! I think "then" or "now" depends on you and your home. In the last few weeks at Coldwell Banker Weir Manuel I have seen numerous homes priced right and in great shape sell within a week at asking price or above. If you fit that scenario, I'd wait until after the first of the year. Of course stay in close contact with your builder to make sure that 4/15 date continues to work. Still waiting to move to our "new" Coldwell Banker office - think "fall" has become mid Dec. now.

I am going to stand by my original post that it is best to meet with 2-3 local agents that you feel may be ideal choices for your needs, and then make a decision from there as someone to use as your trusted advisor and real estate representative...
