I minor may not directly own property in NY. People has gotten around this by various legal subterfuges, trusts, a co-owner who is of age... Your attorney can guide you for these things.

Here in MN, a minor may not own real property..

Maybe a trust would be a better option for you. See your attorney

I'm sure laws differ from state to state, but in West Virginia, while legal it makes the title "voidable". And I agree this could cause problems, and should be discussed with a qualified attorney.

Before considering the idea do consult with an attorney who specializes in real estate, he/she can best advise as to your option; keep in mind that transferring a deed to a minor could pose some potential unforseen problems, therefore again, it's in your best interest to consult with an attorney.
