Can you fire your listing agent?? Our listing agent hasn't contacted us since taking over our listing from

another agent in the same office. We are wasting valuable time on the market with an agent, that evidently, doesn't care if she sells our house. Can we get out of the listing agreement and list with someone else?

Contact the broker-in-charge to discuss your situation.

Here is how it works:

Write these words on paper and send to broker and agent:

"You are hereby fired as my listing agent/broker as of today 7/8/09."

Simple, pure, unequivocal, salient, direct, pointed, and effective.

This is typical NAR behavior. My question is why are you playing games with this person? Do you have low self esteem? Perhaps you feel deserving of such treatment? No? Then do the right thing...terminate the loser realtor!

Unfortunately, this is not a totally uncommon experience that is often a result of poor communication between the agent and owner. There may be more going on with your home's activity than you realize.

If you are unhappy with your agents performance you should first confront them with your concerns, giving them the opportunity to correct these deficiencies. Then, if there is no satisfaction with this, contact their broker and request being released from your contract with his agency.

The terms of your contract should outline your ability to "fire"(desolve the relationship) with your agent's company. You should refer to your document to see what your options are.

Good luck

Dear home seller in Easley,

I agree with all of the other answers. If you call the Broker in charge of that office and express your feelings, you will most certainly get results. I would recommend asking them questions like; where your property is listed, what kind of activity they are receiving on it, and what kind of feedback they are receiving on it. Put the heat on them, it is unfair to you as a seller to be under the stress of selling a home, and keeping it in perfect order, only to have an agent that doesn't care.

Good Luck!

You hired the Realtor to sell your home. If they are not doing their job, you can and should fire them for failure to perform their duty.

In real estate the Realtor is actually an agent for the Broker, who is legally liable for the actions of their agents. I would call them immediately, explain the facts, and get one of their TOP agents.

Good luck.

I would contact the broker in the office and express your interest in removing your listing from that agent.

Dear Home Seller in Easley, I am sorry for your frustration and since you are in a contract with the Agency itself, contact the Broker in Charge of that office!

I hope this helps!
