How eager are real estate agents to list and negotiate short sales in Hollister? Is it even worth trying anymore?
Hi Trish,
I can recommend our Broker, Jack Kirk and me as a back up if Jack is out when you need answers.
We have SUCCESSFULLY sold and CLOSED many short sales here in Hollister. Our last one was on Severinsen St.. They take a lot of technical knowledge and patience. We have both.
The industry is changing every week. Short sales are becoming a little more streamlined and uniform. Still, very few agents have the experience you will need for such an emotionally charged event.
We would love to visit with you. Why not call Jack or myself. In a short meeting you will see that we know how to navigate through all of these uncharted waters.

Hi Trish - I am a full time Realtor and REO Specialist working in the South Bay Area. I have been doing short sales and loan mods since Dec. of 2006 (before they were cool!). There are many factors that go into a successful short sale transaction. The first of which is; what Lender are you working with? Some Lenders are great to work with, while others are more reluctant, less organized, or unable to do Short sales and loan mods due to "reasons beyond their control" (i.e: "reasons that defy common sense").
I have worked with many of the big boys (at least the ones still in business) and would love to answer any additional questions you have regarding your specific scenario.
FYI; always consider a short sale as the absolute last resort! I think too many people are guided into short sales for the sake of a commission, where a loan modification could solve the problem. Of course, every situation is different and the only way to determine your best plan is by completing a thorough analysis of your unique and specific details.
Also, if you do need a short sale and one is successful for you, there isn't a better time considering the phantom tax exemption that was past earlier this year. Restrictions apply, of course. However, that is great news and true relief to homeowners who qualify.
feel free to contact me at any time!

Agents may not seem motivated...but lenders are.
I would be happy to help you find a great Realtor that can analyze your situation and give you the best options.
Good luck!
Trish - Here is some insight. When it comes to short sales, I will say this - the game is still changing, and common sense does not always rule. So, just use this post as thoughts to consider.
They are always worth trying, but you have to understand that you need to show serious hardship to even be considered, and have gone through the avenues of the bank to find out if a short sale is the best option. Let me ask you three quick questions. First, what type of a loan do you have? Second, have you defaulted on your loan yet? Lastly, is your economic hardship serious enough to be considered for a short sale, or are you just tired of paying more on a home than it is worth? Please elaborate so we can come to a better consensus of whether or not it is for you. I know many agents in Hollister, so whichever avenue you pursue, I can recommend a great one for you. I was born, raised, and lived there for 22 years along with being a second generation Hollister boy, so I know quite a few people. I would be happy to help anyway I can.
