Many Realtors all have different business plans, best find an agent works within yours. As a professional real estate agent many don't know all the expenses required.

We all want to make lots of money, but it doesn't define who I am.

I'm worth more than every penny I will ever make, so to put it in those terms is just asinine. (no offense.)

IMHO, for those of you who believe that those who cut their commission are incapable of negotiation strategy, you've got it completely backwards. It shows flexibility. I truly hope that if/when you find yourself in a moment of need, you don't meet yourself.

I take an altruistic/humanist approach. If someone is in need, why not? I have done it before, I'm sure I will do it again...because I am a giver. That's why I am in the service industry. Sometimes agents are at the mercy of their broker, or their pride, whichever the case may be-- this business is about negotiation.

Sure, if it is a small percentage that helps fill in a gap between the buyer and seller that will prevent a deal breaker. It helps also if the other agent is flexible if need be. Goodwill such as this is remembered by clients and they'll be more likely to refer you if you've done everything possible to negotiate their transaction.

Victoria,
If you are so weak you can't negotiate and justify your commission why would I hire you in the first place. I know that sounds harsh but no harsher than your answer.
The NAR says all commissions are negotiable, NAR's own survey says we don't earn the commission we charge.
I don't reduce my commission I negotiate services and get paid for what I do. There is a difference.

Definitely, not up front with the initial listing....however to make a deal work in certain circumstances may consider discounting the fee for professional services to save the deal.

All being commented on at the same time you posted your question so between them and the responses on your Question you should as a Consumer be able to reach some sort of feeling of who you want to Hire Services from.

I will say this much....The Quality of the Agent you decide to Hire will not be determined by the Commission they charge. (That is just a dumb claim) it will be determined by their character and Professionalism. Many Agents that charge more are just charging more simple as that.

Determine your goals, interview Agents, find one that fits your needs, there are many many Agents to choose from all of whom are selling services. Good ones, Bad ones and what they charge has nothing to do with deciding which group they fall in.

As far as all the ...I won't work for less than because blah blahing....YAWN

Good luck, Dunes

Hi Allynz,

I offer multiple options to my seller clients. One of those options is to adjust my commission to a flat fee with full service on the listing side of the transaction. The $1,495 is paid up front and is good until the property is SOLD. There is absolutely no difference in service or quality of work between my options. There are no hidden fees.

I also offer commission due at closing for full service at varying rates depending on what your motivation as a seller is.

I would be happy to explain these various options that I offer. Give me a call some time. My http://www.MLSPlease.com website will explain some of the options available as well as some of my "30 Days to SOLD" Marketing Plan.

Thanks and "Don't keep me a secret--I'm never too busy for your referrals!"
