Change the locks and secure the home.

Celebrate and take care of security hazards such as new locks on doors accessing the inside of the home from outside. Survey inside and out to make sure everything is safe for you and your kids and pets.

Change the locks! Make sure windows are locked they could be left open. Then move forward with renovations if needed and move in.

Change the locks and celebrate - crack open a bottle of champagne.

Well a good man would carry his wife over the threshold of the front door!

Celebrate the end of the home buiying journey and welcome in the new adventure of homeownership. I always suggest taking photos of the home at that point so that over time you can recall all of the improvements you will do.

After that, I would do just like everyone else has said - rekey your new home. Nobody knows who might have a key and the peace of mind is worth the cost.

Put the lease and all other important documents in a safe place that you will remember. Try to get all the phone numbers that you will need to get everything up and running. Hopefully your realtor will have that ready for you to assist you in getting comfortable in your new home.

Absolutely re-key ASAP. Have them meet you at the house and just get it DONE. Remember, dozens of people have had access to this house in the past few weeks - LOCK THEM ALL OUT!

Many new Owners tear their hair out wondering where all the keys are -- change the locks BEFORE you put anything in the house.

- Before the welcome mat
- Before the groceries, cleaners and chore clothes
- Before the spare car, the packed boxes and your pets.

BEFORE you leave your loan papers with all your personal information in the kitchen while you go to lunch.

Oh...one more thing, thank your Realtor with a nice gift of appreciation. A cruise for two somewhere tropical usually will do the trick. LOL

I would suggest grabbing your favorite person (spouse) and celebrating on every horizontal surface in the place!
After that, perhaps turning on the utilities in your name and re-keying or changing all the door locks, repainting / remodeling if needed, and move your stuff in. Complete a change of address form @ USPS.com. Go say Hi to the neighbors, invite your friends over...through a party. Then go buy another house because they are on sale at incredible prices and rates and tell everyone you know to do the same.
Those are just a few of my suggestions that come to mind off the cuff.
Congratulations on your purchase!
