If this is your second home, check with your current homeowner's company. They will sometimes give you a better price. If this is your first home, there are several companies in the area. If you are getting a mortgage, then you will need flood insurance and homeowners. IKM is very good, also, some of the local real estate companies have their own insurance divisions, for flood insurance quote you will need a flood elevation certificate, which is done by the surveyor who surveys your property. This gets submitted to the insurance company and they will quote on the flood insurance. The flood insurance premium should be the same no matter who you deal with.
