Homeowner insurance varies significantly from company to company. I would suggest going to the following web site where you can shop and compare homeowner insurance rates in the state of Florida.

Good Morning Bev!

The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation has a website that provides a comparison of homeowner’s insurance rates by county for a number of carriers. The site provides insurance estimates for a couple of different housing scenarios: http://www.shopandcomparerates.com/HOCompareSelect.htm

That would be a question that your insurance agent can answer. Ask your Realtor who the best insurance agents are to call.

Hello Bev,
Here are a few other numbers for a home insurance quote. Cape Coral Insurance 239-443-1307 and Barton Insurance 239-574-6717. Steve was correct in saying so many factors will effect the price of insurance. Are you working with an agent? They can find out if the previous owner had a wind mitigation completed on the home. That could transfer to you giving you extra savings on insurance. If your not working with an agent and would like help in your research, I would be happy to help.

Have a wonderful day,

Hi, Bev, I would suggest you call an insurance agent that is in Cape Coral and knows the area well. Here are 3 suggestions for you: Dawn Barnett, State Farm 239-541-3276; Kevin Schuman, Allstate 239-242-8072; Chris Brede, Absolute Insurance, 239-540-7000.

I am not an insurance agent, I am a Realtor. My expertise is real estate in Cape Coral, so I recommend you call a professional.

If I can be of further assistance, please don't hesitate to call.

A lot of things determine the cost of insurance on a home. The age of the house and location can make a big difference. If you have a home in mind, give me the address and I can get a quote for you. A newer homw will be much cheaper then an older one because of new hurricane codes. Let me know if I can help anymore. Thanks Steve

Homeowners insurance depends alot on the size and age of the home. The newer the home, the cheaper the insurance. If the home was built pre-2004, it is best to get a wind midigation report done. It costs approx. $75.00 and rates the home for the type of hurricane protections the home has. (i.e. type of roof, type of windows, type of shutters etc.). Many of these features can lower the insurance by as much as half. You will also need to determine if the home requires flood insurance (does not have to be on water to be required). This will be a separate policy. All in all, I have seen insurance range from approx. $900- $3300 per year and once again depends greatly on what the home has to offer.

If you are looking to buy, I will be more than happy to help. Please contact me anytime.
