I have just joined this web site and see this is an old question. Union County as a whole is considered a safe place to live, we do have minor problems but not like the big cities. The average price of homes is around $140,000. I have a website that is very informational, you can search properties and look at the communities it is http://www.eradriggers.com. If the property is in good shape and priced to the neighborhood most of La Grande is a good resale. A few of the busy streets are a little hard to sell unless they are priced under the market. If you are still looking I can get you more information.

La Grande is a relative safe place to live. As is the whole Grande Ronde Valley. The south side of La Grande is considered a more desirable area as the homes are in the higher pice ranges. But neighborhoods with lower priced homes are very friendly as well. Homes in all price ranges are moving very steady at this time. Union County average sales price for February was $242,900. We have small nice bungalos starting at $80,000 and very nice homes in the $500,000 range. You can check out RLMS
Cities: La Grande, Cove, Imbler, Union, Summerville, & Island City. This is a very beautiful area. I know you will love it here.
