A local Realtor is a must.Select a Realtor who is familiar with the area that you are purchasing in.
1st thing to do is contact a great mortgage lender to get pre-approved for a loan so you know what price range to start looking in. If you need a referral to a couple of lenders, then let me know and I'll be happy to steer you in the right direction and get the ball rolling.
You'll also need a good Realtor that knows the areas of interest that you'd like to consider moving to.
I'd be happy to assist you with that as well, but there are many great Realtors in the area including here on Trulia that will be able to assist you.
I wish you much luck in finding your perfect home, and again, let me know if I may be of assistance.
