Anore,

You may research this on your own with the county recorder's office. This requires a bit of leg work in that you have to physically go to the recorder's office with the property address and in turn rummage through the recorded info on the property. The search is free, but copies of any documents are not - there is a per page fee if you are interested.

The county recorders office lets you view property titles.

There are other things to look for when buying a property such as easements, building permits, tax assesments, whether garbage bills are paid, etc. Links to some of the places you would want to contact for San Jose real estate are at http://julianalee.com/san-jose/san-jose-home-services.htm

Hi Anore09

Best place to look would be at the County recorder's Office or call
the many fine agents responding to your email.

You can also call a Title Company.

Best regards
