Recently, Liberty Bank just gave a mortgage to a English client of mine. I called no less than 10 banks and only 2 of the 10 were loaning to foreign buyers. The bank besides Liberty had a lot of stipulations whereby Liberty Bank didn't. The loan process was uneventful for my qualified client and Liberty's mortgage loan rep., Ms. Davis, is a seasoned mortgage loan officer. Good luck to you!

Two Mortgage Brokers we have had experience with are Fairway Funding 941-894-6565 and SRQ Mortgage 941-780-0429. BB&T and RBC are also excellent choices for Foreign Buyers.

Depending on which country your from there are options. Liberty Bank I know deals with international clients along with RBC. There are some other personal mortgage brokers that might do foreign national. I would think in this economy it also might benefit to also ask for owner financing , I know I have a few selling clients in which they are willing to work with buyers in order to make a deal happen.

Hope it helps and please feel free to contact me anytime to discuss.

Hi Andrea,

If you are a foreign national there are only a few choices. I have done it with Liberty Savings in Sarasota. They ask for 35% down and three credit references from your country. A second choice would be a private investor. I know of one who has done it for 30% down. Please call me for further information at 941-356-6580, or e-mail me at info@2Sarasota.com

Warm Regards

I've learned in the past two weeks that mortgages are not available to foreign nationals from all countries. Frank Grisafi & Jim Marcinkowski at Inlanta Mortgage have a few programs for foreign nationals as does Brad Stahlhut at Primary Residential Mortgage.

Most banks could do it. Getting a mortgage would depend on your credit score and how much you could put towards a down payment. Foreign buyers would have a higher down payment. Call a Lender and take it from there.

Good Luck!
