Eventually all concrete will crack. On a normal slab allowing the moisture level around the slab to dry up results in contraction of soil then when it rains alot(like lately) the soil moisture changes dramatically and shifting can occur. Drip hoses, irrigation, and/or gutters are often what foundation companies recommend preventively. Lokk me up, I'm the servant. bets of luck

Parts of Irving been built on fault there been many known issues for these homes.

Worst in my opinion are some areas of Dallas just south of you...Marsh/Forest also some parts of Irving. These are very much subjective. Sometimes it can also be the slope, the fill, maintenance, etc.

Best?...probably some of the newer places that scraped, not filled, and use all the latest...waffle foundations, post tention, etc, but nothing is perfect.

To get a direct answer to your question I would call one of the larger foundation companies in the area and ask them. But to be honest lets say you purchase a home in a low risk area you could still end up with a problem. The best thing to do is:
- Get a foundation report for any home you plan to purchase, many of the comanies real estate agents deal with will do an inspection for free.
- Make sure any repairs done include an engineer followup of repairs and a warranty.
- And most importantly follow proper maintance of your foundation to avoid or minimize any future problems.

Good Luck .. Bruce
