Hi Laurie,

It depends on the type of property you are purchasing and the location (community). The majority of homes in Delaware you do own the land. For example there are several communities in Bethany Beach ( Sea Colony, Bethany Proper) that have land rent.

When you purchase in Delaware you own the land unless you are purchasing a property that is a leasehold, then you don't own the land but have a land lease. Most properties in Delaware you own fee simple and therefore own the house and the land.
