Here is a link to the IRS website. If you were not already in contract by April 30th you are out of luck unless you have been serving outside of the U.S. as a member of the military and certain other govenment jobs. If you were in contract by April 30th, you have until Sept. 30th to close your purchase.

If you are in military, then you may have more time.

3 months ago you needed to be under contract. If you went into contract in April the you have until Sept 30 to close.

You also must have had a property under contract for purchase and sale before April 30, 2010.
