what would it take for a group of families to buy a factory building in brooklyn and convert it into legal?

Asked by Claudia Merlo, Brooklyn, OH Sun Feb 10, 2008

living spaces (condos?). is it legally possible? depending on the zoning? very expensive to obtain permits? I see developers doing this around us. so I guess it must be possible. is it possible to co-own a converted factory building? thanks for your answer

There is a lot to do. I advise to you get a lawyer and Realtor. Perhaps start with the City about zoning, environmental, typical permit costs; and what else they might know. It is possible to co-own any real estate, advisedly with help from the professionals. Good Luck! These conversions are usually good for the community.
