Kilauea technically ends just before the Moloa’a Hui Lands plateau which has long been associated with non-conforming dwellings used as ag workers dwellings since many of the parcels have no density entitlement.
County of Kauai has not sought compliance since the Moloa’a Hui Lands ag plateau represents one of the few (if not the only) larger scale ag production venue on Kauai.
Conventional and legitimate ag production being the fond “sweetheart” of the local administration. Consequently, the county recently passed an ordinance allowing construction of “ag-workers dwellings” on lands
that do not qualify for conventional SFD.
Moloa’a Valley, on the other hand is quite a different story together with its neighboring “Koolau” district with the likes of retired Intel CFO Larry Bowman and his 350 acre $50,000,000 project.
On the opposite (West) side of Moloa’a bay sits Tom McCloskey’s Moloa’a Ranch.
So as you see, the diversity is great . . . . so when you say Moloa’a . . . specific areas should be referenced.

The median cost of residential housing is $960,000 year-to-date. This is up from $840,000 in 2011. The median cost on condo's $475,000 up from $386,500. These figures reflect the entire North shore of Kauai. Bottom line, the housing market is back and getting stronger. Interest rates are at all time lows. In my opinion this is a great time to buy.
