This is a question for a lawyer, but in my humble opinion, the short answer is probably not. The recent popularity of home warranty policies helps cover some of these problems. Hopefully your seller provided you with one that covers your difficulty. Otherwise, unless you can prove they knew the problem existed (they can answer yes, no, or unknown on the form), it would be my opinion that you might be on your own. But like I said, you should consult an attorney if its a problem worth the effort and expense of going that route.
