Our real estate taxes are lower compared to a lot of other areas in the country. A lot of this is also going to depend on your homestead expemtions. This is for your main property that you are living in and is based on a number of factors. I am seeing buyers moving into our area to save money on their taxes more than ever. As far as home owner's insurance, this shouldn't be hard to get if you have a homethat is not in a flood area, you are buying a home that is nota hazard and you haven't had past problems. Your local realtor should be able to recommend a couple of good insurance agents and they will be able to give you an estimate of what the taxes were for the previous year if it is in the tax records.
You should be able to see what the taxes from the previous year is on some of the listing sites. I hope this helps! Wed Mar 26 2008, 19:24 Web Reference: http://www.NanPitcherTeam.com

If you are looking to buy in Alabama taxes tend to be low compared to most other states. Some counties have online tax records where you can research the tax information on property yourself. I suggest contacting a real estate professional in the area because they should have access to this information if you can't find it. For owners insurance I would recommend calling a local representative from a name company. Personally, I lived in Dothan for a while and used Ken Still with Allstate.

real estate taxes are different in every city. They are a percentage of the valued price. You can find this by checking with a local realtor or with the property appraisers office. Insurance again depends upon the area that you are trying to buy it in. Areas that have more natural disasters ie Florida, charge much more. The rate is also based upon your credit history and level of deductible.Again you should consult withan insurance person in that city
