Dear David,

A good rule of thumb is 2% of purchase price. Now, if you are planning to live here for 181+ days, then you would qualify for homestead exemption. Hope this helps out.

Don't know where you came up with that 181 day thing but in order to qualify for homestead in Broward you must be living in the residence January 1st.
