Smithville is a planned unit development where Somers pt is actually a small beach town
about the same in price , the same socio - economic group .
I think appreciation wise you will be the same , if you like the Ocean go with Somers Pt

I bought a home in Somers Point in 1983 and still own it. Somers Point is a wonderful community, close to shopping, Ocean City and Longport Beach, and easy access to the Garden State Parkway. However it is a bit conjested. My Husband owned a home in Absecon and lived in Port Republic while attending college. It is a quaint, charming community and rural. You do have a wonderful selection of specialty shops and activities at Smithville. If you are looking for a 55 and over community there are several in Atlantic and Cape May County that all offer amenities. If I can help you find the right home I will.
