I do not like the new subdivision because homes are on top of each other and most older homes need updating. How can we include updating in original mortgage

A 203K loan is a possibility, as Lisa mentioned. You should consult with your mortgage professional to find out what all your options are. There are several good mortgage folks around the Dothan area that would be more than happy to help you.

You should take a look at 203k rehabilitation loan. I am not a mortgage consultant so I won't pretend to know the ins and out of this one. Take a look at the link posted below and/or conduct a goole search using "203k loan", you'd be amazed at the information you can find. Sounds like this might be a great solution for you.
