5 yrs before the state can sell for back taxes--how ever the county will get about 20 -25% penalty just for being late and almost 20% interest per year--you need to call Bank and tell them their screw up and if you don't get prompt action --- get a attorney !

I would suggest you contact the Tax Assessors office to ascertain what the time limit is on delniquent taxes. You would not want your property to be sold for the taxes while you are waiting to solve your problem with the lender

You should pay the taxes yourself to keep your home out of a tax lien!

Hi Cindy,

It sounds like you need an attorney to assist you. If you set up an escrow account with the lender and they are not paying the taxes you could have a lien placed on your property. If it goes unattended for an extended amount of time you could actually be sold at a tax sale.
