You may want to reach out to the New Hanover County Special Olympics, they have a variety of programs. Their annual fundraiser is on February 22nd in Carolina Beach, the Polar Plunge.

Here's another site that might be helpful. So sorry to hear things are not going well right now. I hope you can find what you need.

Also, a good resource for rentals here is craigslist.org. Be careful though because there are a lot of scams. The ones listed by an agency are usually safe ones. I'd be happy to make a call or two for you if you see one that might work for you.

hi Aimee I was told that Wilmington does not have an appropriate program for my autistic brother and need to look into a different town/county. Do you have any listings or leads that would suit my needs? or do you just work in the Wilmington area? Thanks..Linda

Thank you so much for the info Aimee. I am going to give them a call tomorrow. We need to leave N.Y. asap and I have to make sure my brother has an appropriate program where ever we go. I am disabled myself living on social security disability so needless to say I can not afford much to pay for rent... I am just trying to do the best that I can for my brother , myself and my cats. If you know of anything available ranging from $650-$750 that is semi-close to marketing and gas please let me know. Hopefully a program for him will be near. He is very vocal (saying he likes to be loud, fun loud, in a nice way) so an apt may not be appropriate. I am at a loss right now-- thought as many women have that my home life was secure and going well-- only to find out it has all been a lie for the last 13 years.. So yes, I am in the need for lots of help.. Thank you again.. good-nite. Tomorrow is another long day... Linda
