Lender did not meet first settlement date. I got an extension, but the seller couldn't get a lawyer to represent them and now they want to put the house back on the market or have me pay another 2,000 (nonrefundable) if settlement doesn't take place in 10 days.
Teri,
As the other Realtors have indicated, you should be seeking advice from your Realtor and/or perhaps an attorney. I know that most Brokers have legal counsel that may be able to direct you as well.
Gool Luck!

Teri,
Renee is correct. There is way too little information to provide you with any professional answers.
If you are represented by a real estate sales person, they should be able to explain your options defined within the contract (agreement of sale).
If you do not have an agent, or they are unable to provide adequate information, ask to speak with their broker or consult with a real estate attorney of your own.
If this sale was brokered without the advice of any professionals, I strongly suggest you consult an attorney to sort out what your liabilities, obligations and options are.
Good Luck.

Hello Teri,
I am a bit confused. Can you please provide some more information?
Who represents the seller and who is representing you? Do you have an Agreement of Sale?
If you can answer those questions, I can provide a better answer.
Thanks
