Great question. Hidden Valley Lake http://(www.hvla.com) is a great place for senior citizens. We are a gated community with home prices down to $100K, if you love to golf and enjoy the slower pace of life this is the place for you. We have a 18 hole golf course, beaches, pools. On an average day there are golf carts everywhere even if you don't golf. Take a drive a check out the area.

Oakmont is a wonderful community as noted below. A client of mine just closed escrow a couple of weeks ago on a wonderful home there and another is seriously considering there as well after a move from San Diego. You might also consider the smaller River Bend community in Healdsburg, where I just saw a lovely new listing today on tour. Del Webb has a community in Cloverdale which is north of Healdsburg. Oakmont has the greatest variety of housing stock however with everything from small condos to million dollar homes on the hill with acreage. They have been built over the course of the last 30 years or so with new homes going in today.

The City of Sonoma is beautiful and has a large second home and retiree population. In my opinion, it is one of the most beautiful places to live as well. (And did I mention all the great restaurants?)

Oakmont is located in Santa Rosa, CA along the scenic HWY 12 corridor. Homes range from 1bd 1 ba with carports to large view homes over 3000 sq ft. Glad you asked! Oakmont Village is a beautiful community for 55 and over. Oakmont is located just at the east boundry of Santa Rosa in the Valley of the Moon on Hwy 12, near Kenwood.
