Why no sign?
Just an FYI
Signs are only an advertisement for the agent that listed the house for sale.
Yes it does give an indication that the property is for sale.
Less than 4% of homes sell by for sale signs.
It is quite similar to a construction company that puts a sign in the yard while doing work on the home. It is advertising.
80+% of homes sell through the MLS by agents.
Many homes are actually sold in the first week before the sign actually gets posted.
Quite often the for sale sign is misleading as two out of three are already in escrow or sold.
Agents get calls on these signs and get clients from them until the signs get taken down.
Next time you see a sign, you might realize the house is probably already sold.
You might inquire if it is in your neighborhood to get automatic updates to know what houses are or are not for sale and how much they sell for.
