Hi Queen-the short answer is "YES." I like many of my fellow associates on this post, regularly work with relocation buyers from the Northeast, mid-West and West coast. And I married a NY gal ;-)
Let us know how we may be of further service to you and your husband as you contemplate relocating to our wonderful town and state. If you are interested, we can email listings that may be of interest to you for consideration as well as provide you with one of our custom relocation packages. Best wishes - Ted P.S. I've included a link below to an article on our website with a variety of links of interest. Enjoy! Wed Jan 30 2008, 07:11 Web Reference: http://www.mygeorgiahomes.com/content/article.html/1305...

Hey Queen,
You're in luck. With this huge Atlanta foreclosure market there is a huge inventory of homes for less than $200,000. Not to mention that a lot of these are newer homes in nice subdivisions. It's truly a buyer's market and buying a foreclosure puts you in the position to have instant equity. Do you have an idea of what area you would want to live in? That helps to give you a better idea of what that particular market looks like for homes in that price range. Feel free to ask away with more questions. Queen,
Glad you are considering Atlanta for your new home! I have relocated many from the NY area and would be happy to assist you with your home search. How much do you know about Gwinnett Co.? It's a great suburb outside the Atlanta area that has excellent schools, shopping, and some wonderful homes to consider. Tue Jan 29 2008, 10:29 Web Reference: http://www.dudleysellshomes.com

Where in NY do you live? Do you have children? Are they pre-school, in school? Tell us definitively whether you desire to live in town, suburbs or somewhat rural. We could better help you zoom in on an area to assist you in finding a home that meets your $200,000 criteria.
In the meantime, a link is posted at bottom of this response to search the MLS, with no registration required. We, on Trulia Voices are a few of a number of professionals who would be able to give you the guidance you may need. There are properties available within the Atlanta Suburbs. Lee mentioned some of the areas that have homes meeting your criteria. There are so many others...you could go north, south, east, and west of the city and find homes meeting your criteria.
If you would like to send me an email at Lorie@HomesByLorie.com with additional information such as where you will be working, the maximum amount of time you want to spend in the car getting to work in the morning and afternoon, the importance of schools to you, number of bedrooms and bathrooms needed plus any additional information you feel would be a benefit etc then I will be more than happy to send you homes meeting your criteria and community information to get you started. Are you in Rochacha, New York?
Charm and Style are the operative words here, Queen. So are the words "awesome kitchen." I'm glad that you prefer a suburban area, because your criteria is a tall order for Intown Atlanta and Decatur. So, you have endless choices outside the perimeter. You should be able to identify and locate a house that matches your criteria in cities like Villa Rica, Auburn, Winder, and Sharpsburg. Tue Jan 29 2008, 02:28 Web Reference: http://intowninsider.com/

Queen, I'm from "Rochacha" and still have lots of family there--although a number have migrated South to Florida, North Carolina, Arizona and Georgia (Atlanta area). My sister and her husband moved to Georgia 5 years ago and they'ree doing so much better--so much so that they recently sold their 1st home (for just under $200K) and traded up to a barnd new 6,000 sq ft home near Lake Lanier. In both transactions they were assisted by a Realtor they love. If you'd like, email me at vazquezgerry@yahoo.com and I'll put you in touch with her. Gerry

There are a TON of properties under $200K. Question is: Where do you really want to live? School, Work things to do, airport, are all considerations. In some areas, you'll be left to townhomes or older homes while other areas leave you with large brand new homes, some with basements!
