Some planned communities put an extra tax burden on the homeowners via a Community Development District Tax (CDD). This can amount to thousands of extra tax dollars so homes in those planned communities with CDD taxes can cost a lot more to live in the "pristine" gated community. It may be okay to pay a heft CDD tax for many buyers who value the amenities. It's important to be fully informed.

Florida Property Taxes are Adjusted Annually.

If you are Buying Homestead Property, Beware that the Taxes May Increase Substantially from the Current Assessment.
