FIRST ANSWER

First, figure out how much money you have to pay each month for a house and how much money you have to put down on the purchase.
Second, make yourself a list of things that are important about your new house and try to prioritize them, such as number of bedrooms, size of yard, locations, etc.
Third, check out some available houses to see what your budget will get you and where. If your budget is too low, for example, you'll have to re-think your plans.
Fourth, check on your credit to see if you can get a loan and how much your monthly payments would be for the price of house you think you need. Get pre-qualified for a loan.
Fifth, ask your friends, co-workers and neighbors whom they would recommend as a Realtor to help you look for a house in the location(s) you're interested in.
Sixth, work with the Realtor and see some house until you find one you like and can afford.
Seventh, negotiate a deal through the Realtor.
Eighth, apply for your loan.
Ninth, close.
Tenth, move.

If you also have a house to sell, you'll have to add that timeline into the process, too. Let me know.
