Jan, It sounds like you and your realtor are not a good personality match. That happens. Talk to your realtor and check to see if you have signed an agreement to work with this realtor. You do not want to breach a contract if you switch realtors. Your realtor may have someone right in their office that works well with first time buyers. If all else fails and you need a referral, let me know, I'm in AZ but can recommend realtors I know in LA.

If you don't like the personality of your Realtor....you should shop around for a different Realtor. There are plenty of them out there that would love to have a qualifed buyer client. Check on the internet for Realtors in your area, who specialize in First Time Home buyers....they may tout this on their web site as a specialty.
Good Luck with your home search....and Realtor search.

Talk with your Realtor about how you feel. They may not know they are giving you the feeling that they are frustrated. If in fact they are, ask them to refer you to another Realtor that works well with first time buyers.

FIRST ANSWER

First of all have a frank discussion with your current Realtor to clear the air and try to work things out. However if that is still not resolving your issues, then you might want to ask your current Realtor to refer you to someone who is willing to work with first time home buyers. That way your current Realtor can receive some share of the compensation earned when you do purchase a home. If all else fails, search for a Realtor with a CRS designation on the CRS.com website. Fewer than 5% of Realtors nationally earn this prestigious designation. You could also talk with the CRS office to ask for a CRS Realtor who has indicated a willingness for working with first time home buyers. Good luck to you!
