my fiance is getting ready to buy a house that we will both live in... my name will not be on the mortgage. Can it be on the title/deed??

yes you can be on the title and yes full ownership will be yours in case of his death.

Hi Rg7771,

Yes, your name can be on the Title/Deed without being on the mortgage. However, if he passes away before the mortgage is paid off, you would still need to pay if off/make payments. If no one pays for the house, the bank will foreclose.

You can add it to the deed but the home will still be subject to the mortgage which will need to be paid off in most cases at death or sale. Life insurance on teh mortgage could solve this but ask the closing attorney to be sure about TX law.
