moving back to minnesota as a student

I am helping my sister search for a new home in Minnesota when they move from Seattle so her husband can attend grad school. There is the possiblity of children in the future so they would like to have a 3 bedroom, ac, garage, and heating that works well. They would like to stay close to the UofM, biking distance perferable, or on a bus line. Also a safe family neighboorhood. There price range would be $150,000 to $250,000. Any advice on a good home within these guidelines would be helpful. Thank you.

We are selling our house in Coon Rapids. Its a little further out of town but the light rail will be operational in 2009 to go downtown from Coon Rapids. You will get more of a house for your money further out of the city.

Hi, Karina!
Don't know if your sister has found an agent to assist her yet, but you/she might want to check out the services of an exclusive buyer representative. That means we ONLY represent buyers, which means we will never have a chance of representing both buyer and seller. Check out our website below to see why that's essential in this market place. You can also search for properties on our website.

It would be wise for your sister to get prequalified through a lender first. The next step would be to look at a few properties in that price range and decide where you want to focus and then ask to see some properties in the areas that you or your sister and her husband enjoy.

Hi Karina -

There are tons of great deals in the Twin Cities! Their price range seems very reasonable. Right now is a great time to move back to MN. I just sold a Condo to a professor that just moved here to teach at the U of M. I am also a alumni of the U of M and know the area very well. I would love to help you assist your sister in her move to the Twin Cities. Give me a call - I am sure I can help!

Karina,

Hello, I think they will be able to find a home that works for them in that price range. Visit my web reference below and receive homes meeting your search criteria the day they come on the market. This is a great tool for reducing the amount of time you have to search the internet and magazines for homes. The homes come right to you the first day they go on the market. If you have any other questions please feel free to call or e-mail me I am happy to help.

Karina, There will be many homes that fall into your criteria. As with all real estate, it's location, location, location. Here' a good website on Minneapolis crime statistics.

http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/police/crime-statistics/codefor/

I hope that helps you.
