Karen,

Of course I know Realist and how it works. I think what the consumer wanted to know was what was owed on a property. Realist shows you what they have borrorowed against the home but it doesn't show if they have paid down the mortgage or not. That's what I was referring to. SO we really don't know for sure. You had originally mentioned Realty Trac which is a foreclosure website. So i'm a little confused. Anyways you don't have to explain to me where to look. I'm A Realtor in Newport Beach. Visit my website if you would like to see Newport Beach information.

Mary..shoot me an email...if you are in the SoCal MLS..and have pulled up a listing. Then go to the APNo number and click on it.....it will send you to Realist....and right there it shows you the property details....which includes the last market sale, the most recent mortgages etc.....so you can find out what someone paid for the home and when they bought it....also the annual tax. Lots of information....on equity sellers as well as all the rest. Plus if the home is in foreclosure or at the auction stage it will give you a link for that.

Try it...great tool!

Karen,

That's if it's a short sale or REO. If it's not we can't tell.

Hi....

Mary...if you go into realty tract from the MLS, you can see the sales information including how much they paid and the recent mortgage history. Click on the APN number :)

I dont think you can find a website for consumers. Realtos can find out how much they have borrowed against the property but we have no way of knowing how much they have paid. If it's a short sale or bank owned we usually can find out.

Feel free to contact me with any Real Estate questions regarding Newport Beach.

Hi,

I'm not sure about that for consumers.....all Realtors can look that up for you. It is public information, but I don't know of a public site. I will also check back here to see if someone else knows.

In the meantime, if you are interested in a property and would like to gauge if the seller has equity, let me know and I can find out for you.
