thanks guys for the answers but all of them mentn abt resale in a brief manner but recommend it on buying one elaborately
Every house is easy to sell; all one needs to do is price it correctly.
There are a few different things regarding split levels. Split level homes are great homes for a 1st time home buyers. They get you out of renting or owning a townhome or condo and paying assessments. They give you much more space yet not as much or as a more expensive 4 BR 2 story. Some split levels in BG also have basements which are very helpful when reselling. Especially now, split levels in BG are affordable and a great buy. As far as the age, you should always have a home inspected by a licensed home inspector as Sharron said to make sure there are no serious issues due to age and also ask the seller to give you a home warranty. Home warranty's are good from the date of close out 12 to 13 months depending on the company and cover most mechanicals in the home if there is a problem. The owner only pays a service call fee to have the issue repaired. I currently have a 3 BR split level for sale in Old Farm Village. I would be happy to show it to you if you would like. My cell number is 847-975-2957 if you aren't working with an agent.

Hi,
Many people expecially first time buyers purchase older homes as their first home and a tri-level is a great home to start out with. It is no different to heat then a 4 bedroom story. You can also call the electric and gas company and get an estimate as to what the utilities cost which should be very helpful to you. You should have a home inspection with a good qualified company and that will tell you what if any problems you could be facing and then make the decision. If you need more information please contact me. My name is Sharron Kelley with Coldwell Banker and my number is 847-980-0426. Good luck.
