Nehab, Affordable housing is setup and designed to make housng affordable for low income families or individuals who qualify for it. If you like the housing, area, price etc... then it's right for you. The value should go up and down with the rest of the market but keep in mind less people will be able to write offers on properties in these areas. Buyers will need to meet certain criteria to buy there. There's no alocation formula it's usually what a certain city or community decides to do. Good luck.

If you qualify for affordable housing...then it is wise. Usually the value is affected and your resale will be too. The allocation...depends on the project and the developer.
