Note that 78520 is a large area of different neighborhoods, some nicer than others. I live in a nice area of 78520. Brownsville is a great town with a good University which is expanding, a new Museum of Fine Arts and a beautiful community of palm trees and tropical plants. Most real estate agents in town can guide you concerning neighborhoods and schools so I suggest that you interview a few of them. Best regards.

Willam, I am a Realtor living in Brownsville, TX and there are several good communities in and around the Brownsville area. You'll want to look in neighborhoods like Creekbend, Rio Viejo, The Woods, Rancho Viejo and the VICC. They are spread out over several different area codes. I currently have a house listed in the Creekbend neighborhood that you can view by clicking the following link: http://www.93shorelinedrive.com. My contact information is on the website - please feel free to call me if I can assist you with any other questions.

Don't live there but travel there frequently. Harlingen is close by nicer town not as much crime. Told by friends of mine in law enforcement this is where most of them prefer to live. Brownsville looks dirt and a typical Texas border town with large amount of transient workers.
