Thank you all so much for the information. We've been visiting Vegas for 18 years and own land in Yucca and Winnemuca and homes in the south. We love Las Vegas and will be hitting the road soon. I shall follow all the advice. I hadn't thought of the local postal worker.

What is a "Safe" area? If you're interested in the area go to it. check out it several different time of the day and night. Talk to the postal service delivery person in that area. Stop and speak to people that live it that area. Visit a few sites that pertain to crime/ crimes in the whole valley.
