You have to work on your credit. You may want to call The Tejano Center 713-6496201, they offer credit counseling and HOmebuying Education classes for First Time buyers, and if you want a grant to match your savings for down payment assistance, you need to call the Covenant Program 713-2231864. Both are great palces to start and help you on your credit, both are non-profit agencies.
Good Luck to you!!!

You will want to get with a good experienced loan officer to see where you stand from a credit standpoint. Find somebody who will take the time to get you moving in the right direction. Even if you can qualify today make sure you are doing financially sound things that will push your credit up.

You can go to http://www.txhomeprograms.org to get information on all available housing related programs for buyers in the state of Texas. It's a great informative site and you check it out to see if you may qualify for any of the programs. First though you need to qualify with a lender.

Good luck on your home buying journey!

You would require to have 625 credit scores + with 3.5% down payment

There are no programs for families with low credit scores.
