if i buy a home in georgia is my rental agreement void?

I rent an apartment now in Decatur Georgia and my lease is not up. But I'm ready to purchase a home. Is it true I can break my rental lease early without being penialized? (by showing my new purchase agreement or something?) I just don't want to pay too many fees or the full cost of the apartment to break the lease.

A lease is a binding contract. If the owner of your building sold it,the new owner would have to honor your lease. You are obligated to fulfill the terms of your lease. You have contracted to lease your home for a specified period of time. Your landlord is in the rental business and a purchase agreement is not going to get you out of your contractual obligation.
