Personally, I grew up in Little Haiti. The culture here is pleasant for most people, but I can only speak for myself. It is more quiet than it was 10 years ago. Most of the knucklehead have move out. Furthermore, I predict that home value with go up as renovation are completed and streets are getting a knew look. This will take some time. Being in close proximity to Mid-Town district this will help to facilitate the local economy. Not yet sure of the verdict if Walmart will proceed in building a super at Midtown. If this happen expect more improvement In Little Haiti.

Hope this helps Zou...

The best option you have is to contact the local police department. Some of the better websites you can obtain this information from are http://www.citydata.com and http://www.neighborhoodscout.com.

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.
