Palmer is a beautiful little town, and still close to Anchorage & Wasilla. My brother is from New York, and he loved it last winter when I walked him through it.

FIRST ANSWER

The commute from Palmer PA to NYC is brutal. Don't be misled by what real estate agents tell you. It is easily 2 hrs. one way. You need to consider quality of life. Your husband will be exhausted. Add winter to the mix and it is a tough, tough commute.
