Renee, of course you can buy a home in a different town, as long as your credit, income and assets are in order.

In regards to what your rate would be, if the house you are buying in SC is a second or vacation home your rate will be the same as if you were buying a primary residence.

Give Debbie Knowles a call and get started. She will give you a number for a local lender that will be able to help you as well.

Good luck.

YES you can. I was born in NYC and grew up in the Bronx. I worked on 23rd and Madison for 6 years, where in Manhattan do you work if I may ask?

Call me and let's chat. I will help you find a house here in SC.
